Culinary insider website StarChefs.com recently swept through Philly, tasting and sipping creations from our best restaurants. Editors eventual selected 20 chefs, sommeliers, mixologists and brewers to win the 2013 Philadelphia Rising Stars Awards. These talented folks have received national attention from the StarChefs spotlight, but you can experience their combined talent first-hand at the gala set for Thursday, February 21.

From 7–9 PM, the Kimmel Center will be awash in the glitter of a grand event, during which guests will get to sample bites from 18 different restaurants along with cocktails and wines. The award winner for 2013 Rising Star Brewer will be revealed during the event, out of nominees that include brewers from Neshaminy Creek, Round Guys, Tired Hands, Prism, Vault and Forest and Main breweries.

Tickets to the party are $90 per person, or $115 for VIP access, which includes a private caviar and sparkling wine reception at 5:45 PM and entry to the awards ceremony. A portion of proceeds benefits local hunger nonprofit Philabundance.

Guests also have the opportunity to vote for your favorite dish of the night, a distinction that will come with the prize of a brand new Jade Range plancha (grill).
