Beer-Inspired Cocktails at Farmers' Cabinet
The Farmers' Cabinet is one of the newest spots to hit Walnut Street, located within the old home of Joe Pesce.
While beer-infused cocktails are nothing new, Phoebe Esmon, president of the United States Bartenders Guild (USBG) has devised a slew of cocktails honoring beer, without actually containing the product. These cocktails are sure to appeal to the craft beer drinkers, and will (hopefully) bring them over to the ever-growing cocktail culture that is so prevalent in Philadelphia.
The Cockaigne
This is a cocktail we were honestly surprised with. Drawing on tasting notes of traditional lambics, the flavor and texture of the cocktail is achieved with cognac, a strawberry shrub (fresh strawberries and apple cider vinegar), orange bitters, sugar, and sparkling wine.
A sour, tart bite, but a refreshing cocktail nevertheless!
Coffee in Heaven
This cocktail draws inspiration on a Drink Philly favorite - the Imperial Stout. El Dorado 8yr rum, housemade stout syrup, Averna, Demerara syrup, whiskey barrel bitters and an egg white lead to a frothy, rich texture reminiscent of the Imperial Stouts we know and love.
The Kipling
Intended to bring out the flavors of an IPA, The Kipling combines Beefeater 24, Meletti Amaro, cynar, housemade grapefruit soda, and a float of housemade "4-hops Bitters." Hoppy and refreshing - just what we expect from a classic IPA.
Farmers' Cabinet also runs a series of other cocktails and punch bowls that are guaranteed to win you over. Visit and see why it's quickly becoming a Drink Philly favorite!
