Help Make Victory's Matt Kreuger Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Man of the Year
What kind of heroic feat do you have to accomplish to win the title “Man of the Year”? In the case of Matt Kreuger, just raise $100,000 to cure cancer over the course of 10 weeks. Yeah, that’s all. The general manager of the restaurant at Victory Brewing Company’s Downingtown, PA location is dedicating huge amounts of time and effort to raise the most funds for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society this year, and he’s doing it in a number of fun ways that you can get involved with.
First off, you can enter the raffle to become brewer for a day over at Victory! Each $20 entry (available online here) gains you another chance to be one of the lucky chosen four. The winners will spend a day in the brewhouse, learning every step in the beer-making process, and will help create a batch of Victory beer. The day will close with a grand finale beer dinner at the restaurant. The last day to enter the raffle is April 9, so get cracking.
Then there’s the opportunity to donate while exploding watermelons, which sounds like one of the most awesome pastimes we’ve heard of. A $15 ticket to “Blowing It Up for Cancer,” happening noon–5 PM on April 1, scores you a free pull on the melon canon (and additional pulls can be purchased on site, in case you discover you’re an addict). The afternoon extravaganza will take place at Paradise Farm Camps (in Downingtown), rain or shine, and Victory will be on site to offer a hot sandwich and a pint to all attendees.
Lastly, if you fancy a run through nature for a good cause, pony up the $40 registration fee for the Hoods in the Woods 5K, taking place on Sunday, June 10. When you’ve conquored the rolling hills of Chester County, plenty of Victory brew will be waiting for you at the finish line.
Matt was nominated to run this fundraising campaign by his coworker Berry Woodrow, who did it last year. Victory Brewing Company is supporting his effort by being the presenting sponsor at this year’s Man and Woman of the Year event. Every bit helps the LLS in it’s role, fighting blood cancers with education and funding for research. How will you contribute?
UPDATE: Here's a bonus chance to help out – buy tickets to the April 5 Brews & Bowties event and your dollars will be supporting Matt as well.
