Yards Releases Its Seasonal Double IPA, Cape of Good Hope
Keep your eyes peeled for Yards Brewing Company's seasonal favorite Cape of Good Hope. The highly sought after West Coast style double IPA should be showing up on draft lists and on beer store shelves in 12 oz. bottles this week.
You’ll recall, this year’s release of the hoppy golden elixir, which takes its name from the Southern tip of Africa that opens the sea route to India, was pushed back a month to make way for Pynk.
In keeping with tradition, brewers at Yards tweaked the recipe to produce an ale that’s completely different than any from years past. The grain bill included a generous helping of Pilsner malts to create Cape of Good Hope’s beautiful golden hue. When it came to hopping this year’s batch, they went with Columbus in the kettle, Chinook in the whirlpool and Mosaic in the hopback. Then it was dry hopped with copious amounts of Mosaic, Crystal, Cluster, and Pacific Jade hops to create a wonderfully citrus and tropical fruit aroma.
Get it while you can. It will around only until the end of September.
