Now that Thanksgiving is over, let’s turn our attention to Christmas in Philly and everything that comes with it, including the perennial favorite
Blue Cross RiverRink. Now that
Spruce Street Harbor Park has set the food-and-drink standard for seasonal pop-up parks, expect the RiverRink to keep up.
The
RiverRink Winterfest, which began its third year this past Friday, November 27, will feature stands from
Shane Confectionary,
Franklin Fountain, and
Garces Group if you’re feeling anywhere from peckish to downright starving. Shane will offer s’mores kits and hot cocoa, Franklin Fountain will be scooping up waffle ice-cream sandwiches, and Garces will switch to a wintery version of its SSHP beach bar menu, with the Distrito Taco Truck rolling in on weekends.
More importantly, the Lodge will feature an exciting bar and beer menu -- so if you’re not talented on the ice, you can down a few near a fire pit and feel the holiday cheer. The Lodge will feature three separate bar areas, with a specialized craft beer program pouring local and specialty wintertime brews. If you’re looking for warming cocktails, they’ll also offer spiked hot chocolate, Irish coffees, and boozy hot ciders.
Stop by this year’s Winterfest to drink some cozy cocktails and scarf down some tacos, and if you have time, maybe you can skate a bit while you’re there too.
