Today, Cuba Libre celebrates the famous author and drinker, Ernest Hemingway, on his 112th Birthday.

An avid rum enthusiast, his favorite drink (the Papa Doble) will be served for just $5 during their “Caippy Hour” from 5-7pm. Guests are also welcome to participate in the Hemingway Look-Alike Contest, where the winner will take home a $500 gift card.

Cheap bar snacks will also be available, including their Guacamole Cubano (avocado with golden pineapple ,fresh lime juice, olive oil, served with plantain chips), Frituras de Bacalao (salted cod fritters with homemade lemon mayonnaise), and Miami Frita (a mini Cuban burger of ground beef, pork and chorizo with tomato, lettuce, mojo de ajo and mustard). All bar snacks are only $4. That’s four bucks, people.

$5 Caipirinhas (one of our editor’s favorite drinks) as well as $4 red or white sangria and house wine will also be available.

No reservations are required! Just show up for Happy Hour and enjoy!
