Artisanal Imports Tap Takeover
What: Meet and greet/Tap Takeover
Where: Belgian Cafe, 21st & Green (Fairmount)
When: 7--10 PM, Thursday, January 12
Price: PAYG
Alex Forbes from Artisanal Imports will be hosting a meet and greet/tap takeover at the Belgian Cafe. Beers featured include: Sunner Kolsch (5.4%), Tripel Karmeliet (8.4%), La Trappe Dubbel (7%), Urthel Quad (11%), Meantime Pilsner (4.7% Bavarian Pils) and St. Feuillien Speciale (9% Belgian Dark).

Friday the Firkinteenth
What: Cask Ale beer tasting
Where: Grey Lodge Pub, Frankford & Hawthorne (NE Philly)
When: 12-9 PM, Friday, January 13
Price: PAYG
Join the Grey Lodge Pub for their first Friday the Firkinteenth of the year. Food service is available at 11 AM upstairs and the first of around 25 casks will be tapped at noon. The Grey Lodge hosts this event every Friday the thirteenth which, fortunately for us, is three times this year.

3rd Annual Battle Royale
What: Beer tasting featuring New York breweries
Where: The Institute, 12th & Green (Fairmount)
When: 2--8 PM, Saturday, January 14
Price: PAYG
The Institute’s Battle Royale pits five different breweries against each other, leaving it up to the patrons and their scorecards to decide the best. This year, the breweries featured are: Southern Tier, Ommegang, Ithaca, Sixpoint and He’Brew breweries. The first five people to show up get a free 22oz beer and the next five get tickets to March’s Craft Beer Express.

Foodspotting 2nd Birthday Party
What: Foodspotting birthday party
Where: Khyber Pass Pub, 2nd & Chestnut (Old City)
When: 7-9 PM, Sunday, January 15

Foodspotting, a phone app to read and review restaurant dishes, is celebrating it’s 2nd birthday party at Khyber Pass Pub. Drink specials include: $2.50 PBRs, $5 Rum & Cokes, $5 Vodka & Cranberries, $4 Kenzinger Drafts and $6 Frozen Mint Juleps. To celebrate Foodspotting will be there giving away t-shirts and buttons and Cupcake Karma with cake and cupcakes. Pick up the guide and give the Khyber’s dishes the amazing reviews they deserve.
