Celebrate Life With New Celebrate Wine
While some of us don’t need more of a reason to uncork a bottle of wine then “Hey, it’s Wednesday!” or “I’m thirsty,” many times a glass or two is enjoyed in celebration. A new job, an anniversary, a reunion. Or as is the case with the new offerings from Celebrate Wine, life.
Breast cancer survivor Karen Gagnier of Bryn Mawr and sister Diane Karle launched Celebrate Wine last month as a tribute to survival and the promise in every new day. A product of Karle’s company, Wine by Design, the 2009 California Red and 2010 Chardonnay come in at under $25 a bottle, making them easy to enjoy on a whim’s notice. And the bottle label’s design features an area for you to scribble on your personal celebration of the moment, be it a person, an event or just the ending of another good day.
That the mini product line hit the market just before October’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month is no fluke. Twenty percent of the proceeds from the wines benefit Haverford-based Living Beyond Breast Cancer year-round, and the sisters want to use October as a chance to introduce you to the brand and generate awareness for the cause. More than 30 wine tastings will be held throughout the Philadelphia area this month, including at South Moon Under, Pileggi Boutique, and a number of Fine Wine & Good Spirits shops. Check out the full schedule here.
Can’t make a tasting? We “celebrated” a bit ourselves to let you know what to expect after your purchase. The Chardonnay has a nose that’s bright and festive with apple and banana It’s light in taste to with not too much acidity and a creamy finish. The California Red is a Cabernet Sauvigon-based blend that has a woodsy appeal from the start and flavors of cherry and smoke. Both are approachable and drinkable, making them perfect for a celebration that includes varied tastes.
Both Celebrate Wines are available online at tocelebratenow.com or through PA Fine Wine & Good Spirits stores.
