Fans of the NBC show, Parks and Recreation, may have already heard of Galentine’s Day, a holiday invented by the show’s Leslie Knope (Amy Poehler) to celebrate women around Valentine’s Day. Philadelphia’s local female craft beer reps are finding their own way to celebrate Galentine’s Day this year, with a fully-loaded night of beer and giveaways for a good cause.
Almost a dozen women beer reps from around Philly are heading to the Field House on February 11, for a tap takeover benefitting St. Joe’s Kinney Center, an autism education and support center aimed at providing resources for educators looking to work with students on the spectrum. The reps will be donating beers from a handful of national breweries, including:
Evolution Craft Brewing
...and plenty more. Along with a tap takeover, the fundraiser will also be raffling off baskets full of craft bottles and other swag. Then there’s the Cupid contest, a red carpet walk-off where guests can strut their stuff in their best cupid costumes. It’s a fun, female-fueled night in the name of a good cause that’s sure to make Leslie Knope proud.
