The
South Street Spring Festival is this weekend, and we can’t wait to celebrate warmer weather and longer days. What better way to celebrate than with some signature dishes and drinks from the area’s best restaurants, bars and food trucks?
Over 30 eateries will serve up everything from free samples to one-off dishes designed exclusively for the festival to signature favorites and other festival specials. In addition to the vendors on the streets, local restaurants will have deals and exclusives running inside their dining rooms to boot.
Look for fresh watermelon vodka coolers and beef shortribs from Bistro Romano, margaritas, sangrias and Cracker Jack sundaes from Bridget Foy’s, rum punch, spring sangria and mac & cheese from Cav’s Headhouse, virgin Pina Coladas in fresh pineapples from Queen Village Food Market, a variety of New Orleans daiquiris from Fat Tuesday, cheese curds from The Cow and the Curd, black pepper bacon jam by Bacon Jams and so much more. Also, be sure to venture into Tattooed Mom’s for the Staycation Cocktail, a drink made exclusively for the festival with Sailor Jerry Rum, cream of coconut, pineapple juice, orange juice, spices and a dash of aloha.
If all of these delicacies aren’t enough to fill you up, check out
Brauhaus Schmitz for the third annual
Maifest.
Maifest is a traditional celebration of spring in Germany complete with beer, roast pork, sausages,
liter lift competitions and a Maypole. You can also enter a raffle to win a trip to Germany during Oktoberfest. VIP packages are also available for Brauhaus’
Maifest. Find more information about this delectable event
here.
If these treats aren’t enough to lure you to the South Street Spring Festival, did we mention there would be plenty of music, games, crafts, artisans, vendors and much, much more for the whole family? The festival runs from 11 AM–8 PM, and we can’t wait to see you there.
