Hucksters Weekend at Tall Ships Tavern Celebrates the Boisterous History of Philadelphia's Historic Dock Street, Aug. 28-30

Things might get a little rowdy at the Tall Ships Tavern’s Hucksters Weekend at Independence Seaport Museum. Take in art, history, and a bit of Huckster culture on the waterfront.

Learn about Philadelphia’s historic Dock Street marketplace and the day-to-day excitement of a bygone era. Guests can explore the Seaport Museum’s special Hucksters: The Tumult of Dock Street exhibit and join in on scavenger hunts to win great prizes all weekend long.

On Sunday, start your morning with a stretch at waterfront yoga. Then, Red Paw Emergency Relief Team will be back at the beer garden with adoptable pets from 1–5 PM. See the one-man show “Defending the Caveman” and hang out with the Caveman himself at the tavern after the show. And end the weekend with a performance by Mia Johnson from 4–7 PM.

For Hucksters Weekend, the beer garden will feature Dock Street’s Rye IPA on tap in addition to beers from Troegs and Victory. You can also sip on cocktails like The Admiral made with Sailor Jerry Spiced Rum and ginger beer. Smoke Delights will be out all weekend again providing delicious eats like chicken, seitan, and beef skewers, pork loin sandwiches, coleslaw, potato salad, elote (Mexican corn), and more.

The Tall Ships Tavern is open Friday from 5–11 PM, Saturday from 12–11 PM, and Sunday from 12–7 PM. The Tavern is located on the second-floor patio at Independence Seaport Museum at Penn's Landing.
