North Star Bar to Close After 34 Years
After 34 storied years, the venerable North Star Bar will close its doors for good after service ends this Saturday, October 17.
North Star, which has featured thousands of live music performances since its opening in 1981, will now transition into an as-yet-unnamed bar and restaurant -- the official word on their website is that the closing is for “renovations” while they transform the space at 27th and Poplar into something totally different. This new bar will not feature any live music, but they do
If you can, make the trip down to North Star tomorrow or Saturday for nostalgia’s sake, and keep an ear out -- we’ll report on the new venture as soon as we have more information.
