Gran Caffe L'Aquila Hosts Campari Cocktail Dinner, Dec. 6

Pairing dinners are getting creative these days, and Gran Caffe L’Aquila in Rittenhouse is hosting a Campari Cocktail Dinner this weekend that is sure to please the palate. Sure, you can order a cocktail with your appetizer and switch it up with your main course, but letting the experts choose the dishes and drinks can be a great way to see old favorites in a new light.
 
The five-course Campari Cocktail Dinner set for Sunday, December 6, will be hosted by Campari Brand Ambassador Enzo Cangemi. Cangemi will walk guests through the menu of Italian dishes and drinks, explaining the plates and cocktails as they are presented.
 
The menu for the evening is as follows:
 
Aperitivo
Bruschette - toasted tuscan casereccio bread topped with roasted red pepper caponata
Paired with Aperol Spritz, the Official Aperitivo of Italy - Cinzano, prosecco, Aperol topped with club soda.
 
Antipasto
Mozzarella - mozzarella di bufala and burrata imported from Italy
Paired with Atomic Negroni - Bulldog Gin, Cinzano, 1757 Super Premium Vermouth, Campari, charged with CO2
 
Sorbetto Intermezzo
Campari Passione Sorbetto served to cleanse the palate
 
Primo: Duo of Pasta
Paccheri Con Datterini Gialli - jumbo rigatoni, datterini gialli tomatoes
Carbonara - spaghetti with pecorino romano, egg, black pepper topped with an Italian bacon gastronomic gelato
Paired with Milano by Night - Cabo Wabo tequila, Averna, lemon, and orange
 
Secondo
Arrosticini - grilled layered lamb skewers prepared in the Abruzzese tradition and served with classic peperocino dip
Paired with Cynar E Vino - Montepulciano D’Abruzzo, Cynar Amaro, and a splash of tonic
 
Dolce
Gelato Vertical Tasting - A selection of Italian Gelato Champion, Stefano Biasini’s artisanal gelato
Paired with Nocciolo Milanese - Frangelico, Campari, simple syrup, and cream
 
The dinner starts at 7 PM on Sunday, December 6, and seats are $68 per person, plus tax and gratuity. Tickets are available here. Seating is limited, so don’t wait to reserve your seat.
