Grab Your Goat and Get to the Sly Fox Bock Fest & Goat Race, May 1
The bock beers on offer will include a Maibock, Helles Bock, Instigator Doppelbock and Slacker Bock, but it’s the tapping of the Maibock that really gets the event going, since it happens right after the goat race ends.
Right — did we mention there’s an actual, live goat race?! Starting at 2 PM, goats will race for the honor of having this year’s batch of Maibock named for them. Past years have seen up to 60 registered goats racing each other for glory and naming rights.
The event will happen rain or shine, and though there’s no cost to get in, food, beverages and merchandise must be purchased using Bock Fest Tickets, which will run you $6 and are available at two separate ticket booths. The event is cash only, but there are ATMs on site in case you don’t have any handy.
Head to Pottstown on May 1 for a day of great brews and goat glory, and, of course, to see what name this year’s Maibock will bear!
