Loco Pez Is Opening A New Location in West Philly
West Philly is getting its own outpost of the L.A.-style taco bar, Loco Pez.
The original location is a cozy, cash-only spot in Fishtown, and they’ve recently announced an expansion to the Montrose apartment building at 47th and Baltimore Avenue in Cedar Park. The storefront has quite a bit of history — it spent 17 years as the home base for West Philly’s famous Carrot Cake Man, Vernon Wilkins.
This isn’t the only new Loco Pez location popping up this year. Owner Joe Beckham announced in February that he would be opening a second taqueria at 20th and Bainbridge in the former location of Robert’s Twi-Lite Lounge. Neither location has a firm opening date at this point, but Beckham said he hopes the Graduate Hospital location will open in early summer.
We’ll keep you updated as we get more details.
