Tiki is Now Open in Midtown Village

Polynesian flair has come to Center City with the opening of Tiki at 102 S. 13th St in Midtown Village. This tropical bar is the brainchild of Jason Evenchik (Time, Heritage, Garage) and Tim Heuisler, the manager of Time.

Libations include island classics like the Mai Tai (Cruzan white, Meyers dark, orange liqueur, orgeat, lime) and imaginative tiki cocktails like the Zombie (Cruzan white, Smith & Cross, Meyers dark, peach brandy, 151, pineapple, papaya, and grenadine) which will cost you a breezy $15.  The Party Jawn, however,  will only set you back $6. With this drink, you canchoose from the mysterious color/flavors of “Blue” or “Orange,” and it’s made with PA’s own Faber Rum.  Light and summery bites include chicken and beef satay, pork and mushroom bao buns, shrimp or pork dumplings, and papaya salad.

Part of the charm factor of Tiki is the decor, all of which was sourced from garages and basements of friends of the owners. Expect to see tons of beach themed tchotchkes, such as broken-in surfboards, masks, and anything else you’d expect to find in a tiki hut. Another personalized touch is a mural painted at the bar by Richard Pastor, a bartender at the Industry and a friend of Heuisler. The space spans two stories, and there is seating and bars available on both floors, plus an amazing midtown roofdeck.

The bar is open from 5 PM - 2 AM every day, so grab your grass skirt and head to ornate new bar.
