The Oval+ Returns to the Parkway, July 20

 

Philadelphia Parks & Recreation and the Fairmount Park Conservancy announced the summer beer garden on the Parkway, The Oval+, will open Thursday, July 20.

 

The newly renamed The Oval+ has expanded to not only include Eakins Oval, but Shakespeare and Aviator Parks on the Parkway. They also will have a massive interactive art installation and maze and include other activities like mini golf, bean bag toss, Connect Four, ping pong, a sandbox, chess, and checkers. They will also host themed nights every week, including: wellness Wednesdays with free fitness classes; arts and culture Thursdays with a DJ dance party from 7-11 PM and free hip hop classes; food and flicks Fridays with free movies starting at 9 PM; game day Saturdays with quiz from 4-6 PM; and family fun on Sundays from 2-7 PM with a DJ dance party, face painting and other activities. 

 

The beer garden will serve craft beer, wine, cocktails and hot food during its hours of Wednesday through Friday 5-11 PM and Saturday and Sunday 2-11 PM. The Oval+ will be open through August 20.
