Skygarten is Hosting a Solar Eclipse Watch Party on Monday, August 21
Philadelphia's tallest beer garden, Skygarten, will host a solar eclipse watch party on Monday, August 21 from 12 PM - 4 PM featuring themed cocktails, an eclipse playlist, and more.
The party will be four hours long — though the optimal time to see the eclipse is estimated to be around 2:44 PM — so stop in to enjoy cocktails like the Black Hole Sun (bourbon, jäger, triple sec and orange) or the Cold Side of the Moon (frozen Schöfferhofer) alongside fun themed food like moon pies and an Eclipse Burger (a double decker burger with both beef and turkey patties). Sip on your cocktail and snack on solar-themed bites while listening to an eclipse playlist, featuring music like Earth’s Creation by Stevie Wonder, Dark Star by Grateful Dead, and, of course, the official song of the eclipse: Bonnie Tyler's Total Eclipse of the Heart.
Tickets are just $5 to get in and see the eclipse from the eastern deck, but if you want a VIP experience, splurge on a $20 ticket to get a spot on the western deck. If you've got a big group joining you, parties of 8-10 can reserve a table on the western terrace for $500 which includes a full lunch.
