If family time gets to be too much, you may need a drink (or 10) after this year's Thanksgiving feast. While the liquor stores may be closed, many bars in Philadelphia are kind enough to open their doors to all of us in need of some relaxation.
American Sardine Bar (1800 Federal St.; 215-334-2337)
Opens at 4 PM
Assembly Rooftop Lounge (1875 Benjamin Franklin Pkwy.; 215-783-4171)
This rooftop bar overlooking the Parkway will be open from 8 AM-12 PM. It's the perfect spot to grab some breakfast and watch the 6ABC parade.
Bishop's Collar (2349 Fairmount Ave.; 215-765-1616)
Opens at 7 PM
Bottle Bar East (1308 Frankford Ave.; 267-909-8867)
Celebrate "Danksgiving" at this bottle shop and beer bar. The bar will be open at 4 PM with tons of dank IPAs on tap, food specials and football games on the TV.
Bru Craft & Wurst (1316 Chestnut St.; 215-800-1079)
Opens at 8 PM, kitchen closed.
Christmas Village (1500 Arch St.)
Opens at 9 AM with wine poured by Chaddsford Winery.
Dim Sum House (3939 Chestnut St.; 215-921-5377)
Open with full menu 12 PM-8 PM.
Little Lion (243 Chestnut St.; 267-273-0688)
Opens at noon with a full bar and light menu, at 2 PM they begin seating for their family-style holiday dinner.
O'Neal's Pub (611 S 3rd St.; 215-574-9495)
Opens at 11 AM. Kitchen open until 1 AM. Happy hour from 4:30PM-6:30 PM.
Pub on Passyunk East (1501 East Passyunk Ave.; 215-755-5125)
Open at 5 PM
Ray's Happy Birthday Bar (1200 East Passyunk Ave.; 215-365-1169)
Opens at 7 AM
Red Owl Tavern (433 Chestnut St.; 215-923-2267)
Head to this Old City bar for Thanksgiving brunch and dinner. Their hours will be 7 AM-10 PM, with brunch served until 10:30 AM and dinner served from 12 PM-8:30 PM. The dinner menu is prix fixe for $55 and $25 for the kids.
Sassafras (48 S 2nd St.; 215-925-2317)
Opens at 5 PM
Scarpetta (210 W Rittenhouse Sq.; 215-558-4199)
The Italian restaurant will be open from 2 PM-8 PM serving a $68 per person prix fixe tasting menu.
South Philadelphia Tap Room (1509 Mifflin St.; 215-271-7787)
Opens at 4 PM
Square 1682 (121 S 17th St.; 215-563-5008)
Open for brunch 8 AM-1 PM and for dinner 3 PM-9:30 PM. The dinner is three courses for $55.
Taproom on 19th (2400 S 19th St.; 267-687-7817)
Opens at 12 PM. Kitchen is closed, however they're offering free Thanksgiving meals to industry folks.
The Twisted Tail (509-511 S. 2nd St.; 215-558-2471)
Open from 12 PM-10 PM. Family-style Thanksgiving dinner served for $49 per person, $25 for kids.
Urban Farmer (1850 Benjamin Franklin Pkwy.; 215-963-2788)
The restaurant will be open from 6:30 AM-9 PM. Breakfast will be served until 11 AM and a $75 per person Thanksgiving dinner will be served from 12 PM-9 PM.
