Beamish is brewed at the Beamish & Crawford Brewery, founded in 1792 in Cramer's Lane, Cork. The brewery is old; in fact it was only modernised in the 1970s and a lot of its equipment dates from the '60s. They have their own microbiology lab, so you can be sure that quality is maintained and there is nothing dodgy growing in your pint! Scottish & Newcastle plc took over the brewery in the 1990s; they are one of the largest brewers in the UK, being responsible for brands such as Theakstons, McEwans and John Smiths, so Beamish was in good hands.
