Big Ass Beer Festival at Starlight Ballroom, January 26
If you love big beers — heavy, hefty porters and barleywines that try their hardest to knock you over — get ready for a Saturday to remember. On January 26, the Big Ass Beer Festival returns to Club Polaris at the Starlight Ballroom on Ninth and Spring Garden, featuring more than 60 bold beers.
Your $45 advance ticket gets you in for either the early (1–4 PM) or late (5–8 PM) session, and includes all the beer you care to taste. Most of the brews at this event will be over 8% ABV, so you’ll definitely want to pace yourself, and make sure you have a safe way back home. (Designated driver wristbands will be available at the door for $10.)
Once you have that settled, you’ll be ready to sample local gems like Weyerbacher Merry Monks, Round Guys Fat Bob Tripel, Troegs Nugget Nectar and Prism Felony IPA. Also look for gets from across the country, such as Stone Oaked Bastard, DuClaw Devils Milk and Rogue Double Chocolate Stout. Are you ready to go up against all this big ass beer?
