Where, When & How to Celebrate St. Patrick's Day in Philadelphia, 2012
Will you be able to corral the luck of the Irish into finding a great way to celebrate St. Patrick's Day this year? Having shed its religious origins, the holiday spawns festivities of all kinds, most having to do with prolific assimilation of sips and suds. Many bars around Philadelphia will be running specials on the holiday itself (which falls on a Saturday this year – watch out!), but some of the frolicking begins earlier. Chris’ Jazz Cafe: Two special jazz shows featuring Luke O’Reilly and Venissa Santi for $10 and $20, respectively

Fado Irish Pub: March 15 – St. Baldrick’s Day shave-your-head fundraiser for childhood cancer research, 4 PM; March 17 – $10 cover all day; free pancakes at Pints & Pancakes, 7–10 AM; Irish dancers, 3 PM; DJ from 7 PM–close
Field House: Mention "Drink Philly" at the bar to receive a bracelet for $3 domestics and $4 imports from noon–8 PM

McGillin’s: Opening at 10 AM, $2 cover for party featuring Irish beer, cocktails, and food
Perch Pub: $5 Irish beers including Lavery Belfast Black Smoked Porter, Lavery IRA (Imperial Red Ale), Arcadia St. Bridget's Irish Red Ale, and Sly Fox O'Reilly's Dry Irish Stout; Corned beef cabbage will be prepared as well

Sullivan's Steakhouse: $6 Celtic Knockouts (pineapple-infused Svedka Clementine and Midori)
The Trestle Inn: "Off the beaten path" Erin Go-Go Bragh event, with authentic Irish whiskey flights as well as several Irish ales on tap and in cans; featured will be John Sullivan Irish Whiskey, Redbreast 12 Year, John Powers, Jameson, Michael Collins Single Malt, Sly Fox Seamus
Triumph Brewing Company: Irish Dry Stout and Irish Red Ale will be on special all day
Wedge & Fig: $17 for a three-cheese board, sampling of Irish-inspired desserts, and a glass of beer
