Bacon Lovers Rejoice! The Pennsylvania Bacon Festival is Happening October 4
If there’s one thing that’s for sure, it’s that bacon is king. Bacon pairs well with just about anything, can be eaten any time of day, and how do you make any delicious food even tastier? Wrap it in bacon. Pretty crazy, right? What’s even crazier is that there is an entire festival devoted to all things bacon happening right here in Philly on October 4.
The inaugural Pennsylvania Bacon Festival is going down at Xfinity! Live and isn’t holding anything back. The fest will run all day long, or 1–8 PM to be exact, and will feature everything bacon. And by everything, we mean everything from plenty of edibles from over 30 of the area’s finest restaurants and food trucks to bacon candles to bacon cocktails and so much more. There will be a bacon eating competition, the 2014 Pennsylvania Bacon-Off, and bacon cooking and bacon cocktail demonstrations. Special guest Chef Brian Duffy of the hit show Bar Rescue will also be there as a judge and a demonstrator.
There will also be bands performing all day! Look for performances by Commonwealth Choir, The Lawsuits, Thee Idea Men, Sherwood Brothers, and Crisbie. Check out the rest of the line up here.
Tickets to this pork-centric event are $25 and include entrance and three bacon sampling tickets to be used at any vendor. Additional tasting tickets can be purchased at the event for $2 each or 10 for $18. If you’re a true bacon fanatic, spring for the VIP tickets for $70 which includes entrance, 10 tasting tickets, a VIP Sampling Hour from 11:30 AM–1 PM, and official Bacon Fest swag including a t-shirt, laminate, and poster.
