Perch Pub Raises Over $550 for Salvation Army
A few weeks ago, we told you about Perch Pub's 12 Beers of Christmas. Each day over the course of a fortnight, bartenders at the Broad Street gastropub tapped a different winter brew. For each bottle sold, owner Joe Varalli set aside $1 for the Salvation Army. By the end of the 12-day event, $552 was collected and donated to the charity group, which helps people in need during the holidays.
Also, a pretty slick beer bottle Christmas tree was constructed from the empties. As of right now, there are still a few of the special seasonals left, so if you hurry over, you can still snag a bottle of Austrian Samichlaus (at 14% ABV, the strongest lager beer in the world) or St. Bernadus Christmas Ale from Belgium.
