On September 17, Norristown’s Elmwood Park Zoo will host their fourth annual Oktoberfest celebration, a fundraiser that will benefit the zoo as well as jaguar conservation efforts. Festivities kick off at 5:30 PM with beer, appetizers and desserts on the menagerie ground, and animals will be on exhibit through 8 PM (the party runs through 9 PM).
In keeping with the Oktoberfest theme, most of the beers served will be Marzen-style lagers, with pours from nearly 20 breweries, including Flying Fish Brewing Co., Brooklyn Brewery, Philadelphia Brewing Co., and Long Trail Brewing Co. The event – which sells out every year – is 21+ and tickets are available online here for $45 (they’ll be $50 at the gate, if available) or $25 for designated drivers (1661 Harding Blvd., Norristown; 610-277-3825).
