7 Spirits Made With Hops: An Unlikely but Trendy Match |
5) Hop Summer Release
80 proof; $40
Sons of Liberty Spirits Company in Rhode Island released a seasonal whiskey this year called the Hop Summer Release. This whiskey used an IPA as a base for the distillation process, and the spirit then went through dry hopping and a short barrel aging period. The process produces a whiskey that starts with a malty taste and finishes with the lemon and grapefruit notes of a hoppy IPA, perfect for sipping in the summer. The 1,800-bottle release is now available in Rhode Island and Massachusetts.
