This week, Bruce Willis fans get a chance to see how little effect age has on the city cowboy’s endearing antics with the release of Die Hard 5 — A Good Day to Die Hard. Cocktail fans can get into the action (and enhance suspension of disbelief) with a stop at Revolution House in Old City for a Yippee Ki Yay cocktail.

The drink was dreamed up by bartender Kristina Runne, and it’s somewhat like a floral margarita, combining Tres Generaciones tequila with Grand Marnier, St. Germain elderflower liqueur, lime and orange. Have a couple of these ($12 each) and you’ll be ready to howl at the Die Hard fun with the best of them.

The whole winter drinks menu at Revolution House is actually movie themed. Get Casablanca-era romantic with Of All the Gin Joints (Bluecoat, sage, lemon, sugar, soda; $10) or get ready to dance with Nobody Puts Baby in the Corner (Grey Goose La Poire, lemon, sugar, prosecco; $8).

Runne dreamed up the drink titles as a way to create conversation among bar guests — as a “break the ice” tool — and it seems to be working. The Die Hard flick comes out on February 14, so if you stop by to try the related drink, also take advantage of Revolution House’s Love/Hate cocktail menu, special for Valentine’s Day.
