Oscar Parties: Where to Watch the Academy Awards in Philadelphia

See 2014's Oscar Party list here.

It’s Oscar time! The multi-billion-dollar movie industry is preparing to strut its stuff for the 85th year, and millions of viewers across America and the world will tune in to follow along. Where can you catch all the action will some drinks and fun? We’ve got the skinny.

Red Carpet Party at 10 Arts
The lounge at the Ritz Carlton restaurant will play host to a swanky cocktail party starting at 6 PM that will see the Pennsylvania debut of Casamigos Tequila — that spirit with the George Clooney and Cindy Crawford in bed TV ads (they are partners in the liquor company). Drinks and nibbles are free through 7 PM, when the show starts, after which cocktails will go for $8 each. RSVP via email here, and dress up when you go, since the best-dressed man, woman and couple will win prizes. Plus, Uber is offering discounted rides to the party; enter RITZREDCARPET when you order your car.

Hollywood Cocktails at Davio’s

Watch the ceremony with proper libations in hand at this Rittenhouse steakhouse. Make with fresh herbs and house mixers, three special themed sips will be available for $13 each from 5–10 PM. From Lincoln, The Daniel Day Lewis has cognac, mint and fresh berries; for Les Miserable, The Hugh Jackman brings Jack Daniels with vermouths; and for Silver Linings Playbook, The De Niro, with prosecco and Aperol orange.

Contest and Cocktail at Noir
The East Passyunk bar will be screening the show and offering a $5 Red Carpet Martini made with Grey Goose Cherry Noir (how appropriate), garnished with a red sugar rim and a vodka-infused cherry. Pair the drink with special “veal oscar bites,” and take your best guesses at the award winners in the contest — the person who gets the most correct will win a restaurant gift certificate.

Popcorn and Drink Deals at Revolution House

The second floor bar will be all about the Oscars, with the ceremony playing on the TVs and specials during the broadcast. Look for $3 domestic bottles, $4 select drafts, free flavored popcorn and 10% off select pizzas to help you enjoy the show in style.

Beer and Movie Night at Old Eagle Tavern
At the Manayunk craft beer bar, you get to escape the glitzy hype and watch an actual movie instead. In honor of host Seth McFarlane and presenter Mark Wahlberg, the Tavern will be showing Ted — the 2012 movie starring the pair. The show starts at 6 PM, and keeping with the bear theme, Bear Republic XP will be the special brew of the evening.

Hollywood’s Big Night at The Social at Revel
If you want to make a weekend out of it, head to Atlantic City, where the viewing party will take place starting at 7 PM at The Social in Revel Resort. Themed cocktails will be served while the ceremony plays on two huge projection screens. Trivia and predictions contests will continue all night at the shore’s only smoke-free casino.
