Sour Beer Class 102: Manufactured Beauty
Please come join sour beer lover Jonny Medlinsky and your friends at the Khyber Pass Pub for our second annual sour beer class during Philly Beer Week 2013!
This year's class promises to be a very special evening, as it will be taught by the incredibly knowledgeable and interesting Nick Bokulich. Nick is a professor and microbiological researcher at UC - Davis , who has worked with several breweries like Allagash and Anderson Valley to create some of America's best sour beers. His scientific research about the all important souring yeast and bacteria (Brettanomyces , Lactobacillus, Pediococcus, etc.) and its application are critical to producing the bold and beautiful flavors that characterize the best of the American sour beers scene. Nick will be joined by Uinta Brewing's owner / vice president of Sales, Steve Kuftinec, who will be bringing two of their Birthday Suit sour beers as well.
