How do you make going to a Phillies game even more fun? With a huge tailgate beer and BBQ fest, featuring the region’s best craft brews and tons of smoky meats and sides. That’s what you’ll find at the sixth annual BBQ at the Ballpark, brought to you by beerfest experts Rolling Barrel Events.
On Saturday, June 22, the Phils take on the Mets at 4:05 PM, but before that happens, the lot in front of Citizens Bank Park will be transformed into a tented party. A buffet of food from Sweet Lucy’s Smokehouse in North Philly will include pulled pork, BBQ chicken, mac ‘n’ cheese, coleslaw and more. Pair the eats with sips from the beer tasting array, a lineup that will include brews from Victory, Sly Fox and Neshaminy Creek. For dessert, Victory beer ice cream will do the trick.
The BBQ starts at noon and will continue until it's time to head over to the game. Tickets are available, and we've got a promo code for a $5 discount: BBQ 2013. The tailgate party only is $55 ($50 with discount; here), after which you can slide over to Xfinity Live and catch the game on TV. Or, enjoy the all-you-can-eat fest plus a seat on the 400 level, third base side, for a total of $90 per person. The event will take place rain or shine, and there will be live music, and games. If you’re a fan of baseball, craft beer, BBQ or all three, there’s no better way to spend the second day of summer.
