Revolution House Introduces "Seven Deadly Sins" Cocktail Menu
There’s a new slate of specialty cocktails at Old City bar Revolution House, and it’s a fun one. Each of the new drinks is themed after one of the seven deadly sins, and each name contains a reference to a pop cultural icon who represents that vice. The list ranges from $8–$12, and will be available throughout the summer. Check out the drinks below.
GREED: Gordon Gekko
Named after the unscrupulous trader played by Michael Douglas in Wall Street, this drink is like a summery Manhattan, with Bulleit Rye, Cointreau and grapefruit bitters ($8).
LUST: Lester Burnham
Kevin Spacey has trouble keeping it in his pants as this flirty dad in American Beauty, and the drink in his name is a cucumber Vesper, with house-infused cucumber vodka, Hendrick’s Gin and Lillet Blanc ($12).
GLUTTONY: Augustus Gloop
The fat little boy who accompanies Charlie on his trip through Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory lends his name to this slightly sweet and fruity sip, with Stoli blueberry vodka, crème de violette, lemon, sugar and club soda ($10).
SLOTH: The Dude
Calling out Jeff Bridges’ character in The Big Lebowski for his laziness seems mean, but make it up with this twist on a White Russian made with Van Gogh double espresso vodka and Bailey’s ($8).
ENVY: Mr. Ripley
Matt Damon’s character in The Talented Mr. Ripley wants what his friend Dickie has, and takes it through murder, but you’ll be safe with this fruity, juicy take on a mojito made with Don Q rum, Midori, mint, lime and pineapple juice ($10).
PRIDE: Norma Desmond
The dreaming, scheming main character of 1950s film noir flick Sunset Boulevard is the namesake for this French 75-inspired sip, made with Bluecoat gin, St. Germain, lemon and prosecco ($10).
WRATH: Patrick Bateman
Stay clear of the shower when you sip this herbal, fruity margarita named after the American Psycho murderer. It’s made with Sauza Hornitos tequila, Cointrau, strawberries and basil ($12).
