Iron Hill Brewery Opens 10th Location in Voorhees

Iron Hill Brewery Opens 10th Location in Voorhees

Ten is a pretty big number, when you’re talking brewpub locations. On August 9, Iron Hill Brewery celebrated the opening of its 10th restaurant with an onsite brewery at the Voorhees Town Center in New Jersey (about 25 minutes east of Philly). Things kicked off with a “First Pour” — a VIP ribbon cutting that took place an hour before the doors opened to the public. Since those doors opened “it’s been crazy,” according to head brewer Kevin Walter

In the weeks since it’s opened, people have been very receptive to the newest outpost, which joins Iron Hill branches in Philadelphia, the Philadelphia suburbs, Delaware and Maple Shade, NJ. Set in what’s quickly becoming a small restaurant row adjacent to the former Echelon Mall, Iron Hill Voorhees has been buzzing. People come for the beer brewed on premises and stay for the fresh food, which includes hearth baked pizzas, burgers, sandwiches, seafood, comfort food entrees and other upscale bar favorites. They can even leave with a growler of their favorite brew.

“Our biggest selling beer has been Mahalo, Apollo!,” says Walter. “It’s a ramped up American version of a Belgian double wit with lemongrass and Grains of Paradise.” He calls it “very accessible” with  “a spice character that makes it a great summer beer.”

There’s no cocktail menu at Iron Hill’s Voorhees location yet, but when one is rolled out, Walter anticipates it will include beer cocktails. The restaurant’s first brunch menu includes a “beermosa” — the Mahalo, Apollo! beer mixed with orange liqueur.

To keep up with events, beer releases, and other specials at the brewery, customers can join the King of the Hill rewards program. Members will receive emails about exclusive beer releases and events as well as earn points for each visit and dollar they spend (excluding alcohol). A $25 credit is earned for each 250 points.

Happy Hour is celebrated every Thursday and Friday from 5-7 PM with drink specials in the bar and cocktail areas. Each day until 11 PM, take out customers can walk away with two pizzas and one growler of house beer for $25.

Iron Hill isn’t done growing yet. Walter says that while there aren’t any plans that can be released just yet, Iron Hill partners Kevin Finn, Mark Edelson and Kevin Davis are looking at a frew of locations and hope to open their 11th location sometime late this year or early next.
