Mémé Fried Chicken Pop-Up Returns to American Sardine Bar
American Sardine Bar and South Philadelphia Tap Room chef Scott Schroeder is bringing former Mémé chef-owner David Katz back for a second round of the two's immensely popular pop-up, which will have Katz’s legendary fried chicken lunch deal back in action for just one afternoon on Thurs., Jan. 30 from 11 AM until they’re are sold out.
With his super-crispy, twice-fried chicken, which he only served for lunch every Thursday at his shuttered Fitler Square restaurant, Katz built a huge loyal cult following. Chances are his prized birds will fly the coop faster than Percy Street Barbecue can burn through its entire lot of Pappy Van Winkle. At last year’s pop-up, Schroeder and Katz ran out of orders in less than two hours. So if you are even remotely interested, plan on getting to American Sardine Bar at 11 AM sharp.
In addition to the Katz’s coveted fried chicken, the $11 lunch deal comes with a Mémé-style biscuit, and a cold 12 oz. bottle of Miller High Life. There will also be three to five side dishes available for an additional cost.
