If you thought those very realistic, skull-shaped glass decanters that serve as the packaging for Dan Aykroyd's Crystal Head Vodka looked creepy, wait ‘til you get a load of what one looks like after a forensic artist performs facial reconstruction on it.

Images of this magical transformation began surfacing on vodka brand’s Facebook late last month, creeping out followers and leaving many puzzled about who was behind the bottle’s refacing. Not to mention, what possibly compelled this person to go through the trouble.

Turns out it was the handy work of Nigel Cockerton, who holds a Masters in Forensic and Medical Art from the University of Dundee, Scotland, whose curiosity got the better of him. CNet Australia reports that after pondering the appearance of the face that might have once fronted the glass skull’s surface, Cockerton decided to reconstruct it in clay.

The entire process, from fitting it with eyeballs to sculpting its facial musculature to wrapping it in skin, was documented with photographs that you can check out on Crystal Head’s Facebook page. Despite the shockingly realistic end result, the dude looks more like a hacky sack-kicking macro-brew diehard than a boutique vodka connoisseur.
