Ristorante Panorama Uncorks Philly Wine Week with 'Bubbles & Barrels,' Sun., March 23
No doubt the swirl-swish-and-spit set are getting excited for Philly Wine Week, the city’s first ever weeklong celebration of wine. It kicks off on March 23 and runs through March 30.
Like Philly Beer Week, which gets going every year with Opening Tap ceremonies, Wine Week will commence with an “Opening Cork” celebration at Ristorante Panorama on Sun., March 23 at 5 PM.
The opening party, appropriately named Bubbles & Barrels, will bring bubbly from some of the world’s most prestigious houses of Champagne, and special guest appearances from noted Master Sommeliers Laura Williamson, M.S., Kathy Morgan M.S., and Wayne Belding M.S. for a walk-around tasting. In addition to bubbly, the event will feature local Pennsylvania wines. The fest has partnered with PA Winery Association, and the evening will offer samples of some of the best wines being produced in the region, including yet-to-be-bottled Karamoor Cabernet Franc and Chardonnay from wine kegs.
The $40 per person also includes light hors d'oeuvres and homemade pasta bites provided by Panorama. Proceeds from the evening will benefit PAWS.
