On Sunday, March 9, The Brewer’s Plate celebrated its 10th Anniversary at the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts.

For this year’s annual food and drink pairing festival — the region’s largest and perennially most popular — organizers Fair Food and Rolling Barrel Events brought the party to Broad Street with more than 70 local chefs, restaurants, farmers and artisanal producers. They were joined by some of the area’s best brewers, distillers, and cider, mead and wine makers who served their best wares to pair with the wondrous assortment of tasty dishes that was offered.

Upstairs in the VIP area, Iron Chef Jose Garces and his Philadelphia restaurants threw down in the first Sausage Showdown: The Best of the Wurst competition in Brewer’s Plate history. The panel of judges charged with picking a winner included Garces, Fair Food’s Ann Karlen, Food Network’s Marc Summers, Philadelphia Eagles’ Brent Celek, Victory Brewing Company’s Bill Covaleski, and NBC 10’s Sheena Parveen.

Down on street level, the general admission area bustled with drinks and eats from duos like Nodding Head and Southwark, Tria and Troegs, Brauhaus Schmitz and Neshaminy Creek, and more.
