What's On Tap at Citizens Bank Park For the 2014 Phillies Season

Though it seems like it would never arrive, spring has finally sprung, and with it comes the start of baseball season. As in years past, Phillies fans will find a bumper crop of cool craft beers pouring at Citizens Bank Park’s concession stands for the 2014 season. While this season won’t necessarily have more crafts pouring than last year, you will be able to find a broader selection of brews in more places.

“Over at Alley Brewing Company, you’ll find just about every beer that’s available in the ballpark,” Aramark General Manager Kevin Tedesco told Drink Philly. “But as you stroll around the main concourse, you will find everything from local fan favorites like Victory and Flying Fish, as well as bigger brands like Bud and Bud Light.”

New this season is a second, smaller Alley Brewing Company location, which will have most of the beers available at the old original. The range of brews runs the gamut from local brands and popular craft selections to imports and, of course, a many AB InBev options. Also making its debut at the ballpark is Frank and Stein’s. Located behind section 134, the new stand will have dozens of different beers available, and signature hot dogs like the Philly Cheesesteak Dog, which comes topped with cheesesteak and Whiz.

In spite of the dozens of craft beers available, Tedesco told us that he Bud Light “rita” line — as in Lime-A-Rita and Straw-Ber-Rita — perform best. This year, you will see even more of these fruity and fizzy libations, as well as a big push on AB InBev’s newly introduced Johnny Appleseed Cider.

Still, Phils’ fans thirst for homegrown suds shows no sign of letting up. This season, keep an eye out for beers from Troegs (now in cans), Victory, Sly Fox, and Flying Fish.

For something a little stronger, you’ll have to belly up at one of CBP’s restaurants or clubs, since Pennsylvania law doesn’t allow the sale of spirits or wine at the stadium’s general concessions.
