Chances are good that you’ve been to The Franklin Institute, but you’ve probably never experienced it like this. On Tuesday, August 12, the adults-only program, Science After Hours, returns for another evening of scientific wonderment accompanied by booze. In conjunction with the new traveling exhibit Circus! Science Under the Big Top, the evening will feature a circus theme.

From 6:30 – 9:30 PM, members of the Olde City Sideshow will create a spectacle with fire breathing, a human blockhead, eye hooks, and bed of nails. Joining them will be Philadelphia School of Circus Arts, whose members will demonstrate amazing feats of acrobatics, juggling, tight-rope walking and aerialist ring flying.

In addition to the three-ring acts, guests will have the opportunity to try their hand at old-timey carnival games like ring toss and balloon darts. Plus there will be circus appropriate snacks like cotton candy, funnel cake and hot dogs, and a full cash bar.
