Out of all of the food and drink related holidays, we really appreciate National Rum Day (August 16). It’s one liquor we’d love to see incorporated into more cocktails.
To celebrate National Rum Day we recommend stirring up this cocktail by Theo Lieberman, head bartender at New York's famed Milk & Honey.
The Hammond is made from PAMA Pomegranate Liqueur, Santa Teresa "1796" Solera Aged Rum, Atsby Amberthorn Vermouth and Peychaud's Bitters. It's closer to a Manhattan than a Tiki drink and we love Lieberman's unanticipated use of rum in this cocktail.

1 oz. PAMA Pomegranate Liqueur
1 oz. Santa Teresa “1796” Solera Aged Rum
1 oz.Atsby Amberthorn Vermouth
2 dashes Peychaud’s Bitters
Combine all the ingredients in a mixing glass. Add ice and stir. Strain into a rocks glass filled with fresh ice and garnish with a lemon twist. Cheers!
