Fans of the long-enduring cult British sci-fi series Doctor Who must surely have their long, stripey scarves in bunch in anticipation of the kickoff of the show’s eighth season.

Like the Day of the Doctor last fall, which celebrated show’s 50th anniversary, fans can get together and watch the premiere on the big screen at select movie theaters. Here in Philly that happens on Monday, August 25 at Cinemark’s University City Penn 6 where a the episode will be screened along with an exciting prequel before the feature presentation and behind the scenes presentation immediately following it.

But for a more spirited celebration — with an emphasis on the spirits — fans of legal drinking age can beam over to Old City’s Victoria Freehouse on Saturday, Aug. 23, to celebrate the coming of the good Doctor and his latest adventures.

The party kicks off at 8 PM and will feature drinks like:
