New Liberty Distillery Teams Up With Stephen Starr Events
A while back we told you of a craft booze boom blowing up in Philadelphia and its surrounding communities. Today, word comes that one of those local liquor startups, The New Liberty Distillery, is teaming up with Stephen Starr Events to serve as the new venture’s catering partner.
The distillery, which in addition to crafting and aging its own small batch whiskies — as well as marketing several heritage brands — can accommodate from 60 to 500 guests for events inside its sprawling Kensington headquarters, located inside the historic Stable Building at the Crane Arts complex at 1431 North Cadwallader Street.
The partnership means anyone hosting parties and events there can show their guests a great time with the same cuisine, drinks, service, setting and music folks come to expect from Starr’s portfolio of popular restaurants.
Of course those hosting events at the property will be able to enjoy the spirits made on premises. It all sounds a lot more appealing than cold cut platters and light beer at the Moose Lodge, for sure.
New Liberty Distillery and its parent Millstone Spirits Group is the latest effort from master distiller Robert Cassell and backers. Cassell first gained recognition as the creator of Philadelphia Distilling’s flagship Bluecoat Gin. In addition to making and marketing whiskies, the company also designs and fabricates a full range of craft distilling equipment and custom-built Cassell Distilling System stills through a partnership with Specific Mechanical Systems Ltd (SMS). Millstone Spirits Group also offers a variety of consulting services to the craft spirits sector, including distillery design and buildout, product development, branding and marketing and sales and distributor management.
