Best Irish Pubs for Irish Weekend at the Shore

Best Irish Pubs for Irish Weekend at the Shore

The unforgettable, slightly-infamous and truly legendary Irish Weekend is about to touch down in Wildwood. As synonymous of the Jersey Shore as beach tags and boardwalks, Irish Weekend-running from Sept. 18–21- is a full-fledged celebration of all things Irish.

And that includes the Irish pub. So where do you go to get your fill of Bailey’s and Guinness? And where do you go to celebrate in spirit if you can’t make it to Wildwood? We’ve got you covered. Check out these Irish pubs across the Jersey Shore to get your fix of lucky libations.

Cattle ‘n Clover: Whiskey and Scotch abound in a pretty impressive liquor list. But it’s the specialty Irish-themed cocktails that really whet our appetite, like the McCeltic Lemonade that uses Celtic Crossing honey liqueur to add natural sweetness. (3817 Pacific Ave., Wildwood; 609-522-3800)

O’Boyle’s Irish Pub: Smithwicks and Guinness top the list of Irish beers available at this bar, and the drink specials give you the chance to try everything. They have a pretty impressive morning brunch too, and lots of homestyle Irish dishes. (2507 Delaware Ave., N. Wildwood; 609-729-5900)

Delaney’s Irish Pub: Delaney’s Taste of Ireland menu includes classic Irish fare with a modern twist, like Irish nachos or pizza. Pair that with a Guinness at the bar or grab a seat outside to enjoy the views of Washington Street. (400 Washington St., Cape May; 609-770-8559)

O’Donnell’s Pour House: The drink list has got a great selection of Irish and British beers and liquors, but it’s the bar menu that keeps us coming back. It’s a great place to watch a soccer game and enjoy really high-end bites while you drink. (39th and Landis Ave., Sea Isle City; 609-263-5600)

Ri Ra Irish Pub: Located in The Tropicana’s The Quarter, this spot runs from day ‘til night, with a specialty late-night menu and specials that coincide with live music. They feature a monthly drink special, and September’s Jameson and ginger ale deal brings out the best of Irish flavors. (Brighton and Boardwalk, Atlantic City; 609-348-8600)

St. George’s Pub: This quintessential Irish pub features a huge bar with lots of drink specials and draft beer options. This spot is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week and has weekly events like quizzo with drinks and deals to match. (4282 Harbor Beach Blvd., Brigantine; 609-266-1001)

Farrell’s Stout & Steak: Impressive nightly drink specials meets a truly Irish menu, serving up plates like shepherd's pie and fish and chips. If you’re just looking for a few bar bites try out their micro menu, which features Irish standards in mini plates for snacking. (401 Broadway, Point Pleasant; 732-892-2090)
