Major League Bocce Teams Up with The Druid's Keep for Beer, Bocce, and Fun
Major League Bocce has built an empire pairing their brand of bocce with beer drinking and it’s pretty easy to see why: you can drink while you roll. Unfortunately for Philly’s bocce lovers, finding a space suited for both activities can at times be difficult. Enter The Druid’s Keep in Northern Liberties, a neighborhood bar best known for its extensive beer selection, dive atmosphere, and starting this fall: bocce!
“We’re excited to bring bocce back to Northern Liberties this fall and work with The Druid’s Keep,” says League president, Sarah DeLucas. The League intends to play bocce on the back patio of the bar utilizing the two cornhole lanes as bocce courts. “A friend told me about the cornhole lanes and suggested I check them out for bocce purposes,” says DeLucas. “As soon as I saw them firsthand, I knew this would be the perfect spot for a League!” With two bocce courts on premise, bocce players in Northern Liberties can continue their tradition of tossing bars and crushing beers on game nights.
Take the new courts out for a test drive this Thursday, 9/25 at The Druid's Keep. Major League Bocce is hosting pick-up bocce games at the bar from 7-10 PM. Former players can wear their MLBocce t-shirt in exchange for free beer! Don't have a shirt yet? Sign up for the fall season on-site and you'll earn a free beer and koozie to match.
Major League Bocce is hosting games at The Druid’s Keep on Thursdays this fall starting October 9th. The Druid’s Keep will have $4 Dogfish Head drafts (the League’s official beer sponsor) available exclusively to players. In addition to the beer special, all bocce players get 8 weeks of games, a team t-shirt, weekly prizes and giveaways, and a free party at the end of the season!
The league also has two other locations available this fall in Center City and South Philly. Complete details and registration information can be found here. DrinkPhilly readers can save $10 on the Fall season with discount code "BEERISGOOD."
