Monk's Cafe Tapping Russian River's Seldom Seen Framboise for the Cure, Sat., Oct. 25
Only one barrel of Russian River Brewing Company’s Framboise for the Cure, an extremely rare Belgian blonde aged in Chardonnay barrels with brett, lacto and pedio cultures and a ton of fresh raspberries, made its way east of the Rocky Mountains this year, and it’s going on tap at Monk’s Cafe on Saturday, October 25 to help raise money for breast cancer awareness.
One hundred percent of proceeds from sales of the once-a-year beer will be donated to charity. As with most other charitable happenings hosted by Tom Peters and the rest of the good folks at Monk’s, this will be a cash only event. Meaning: Credit cards, debit cards and gift cards will not be accepted. According to Peters, the keg was donated to Monk’s for charitable purposes, and he doesn’t want any of the money they bring in from it to go to banks and credit card companies to cover processing fees.
Along with Framboise for the Cure, Monk’s will be pouring several other seldom seen Russian River brews, and very limited number of bottles too.
What’s more, Peters and his staff will raffle off a handful of beer baskets featuring ultra-rare and obscure bottles unearthed from the legendary stocks tucked away deep in Monk’s subterranean vaults.
The beers start flowing at high noon. Go early and secure a place in line if you want to get a taste of this exceptional and extraordinarily rare beer. And don’t forget to bring cash!
