"Beer O'Clock" and "Wine O'Clock" Officially Added to Latest Edition of Oxford Dictionaries
Oxford Dictionaries added a slew of new words to the online edition on Thursday, August 27. No official time was listed for beer or wine o’clock with the definition instead being “An appropriate time of day to start drinking beer/wine”.
Other new words added in the latest batch include Redditor, a registered user of the website Reddit, awesomesauce, extremely good; excellent, fur baby, a person’s dog, cat, or other furry pet animal, and manspreading, the practice whereby a man, especially one travelling on public transport, adopts a sitting position with his legs wide apart, in such a way as to encroach on an adjacent seat or seats.
Now if you’ll excuse us, we think it’s definitely beer o’clock.
