Susanna Foo's SUGA Is Now Open on Sansom Street
We wrote about Susanna Foo’s culinary return to Philly, SUGA, not too long ago, and are happy to announce that its doors are finally open at 1720 Sansom Street.
Though SUGA’s food menu is certainly diverse and seemingly delicious (notable items include tea-smoked peking duck, bon bon chicken, and lobster spring rolls), its drinks are what is really drawing our attention.
The opening menu features all new original cocktails, like the Sparkling Susanna (sparkling wine, elderflower liqueur, and passion fruit), the Sleeping Dragon (light rum, dark rum, almond syrup, and yakult, an Asian dairy drink), and the Some Like It Hot (serrano pepper rum and mango) that are each sure to complement the Asian fusion offerings.
Alongside the craft cocktails, there are several wines by the glass ranging in price from $8-$14, with selections like Cotes du Rhone and a Gruner Veltliner, and the beer selection includes some at-home favorites (Yuengling, Victory Hop Devil) alongside foreign imports (Tsingtao, Hoegaarden, Asahi, Sapporo Reserve, and Duvel). SUGA also offers a few sakes in either 4oz or 8oz pours, and if you want to wind down after dessert, they have an extensive collection of Chinese teas.
SUGA has also already released a happy hour menu, so if you’re looking to experience the cuisine without going all out, stop by Monday through Friday from 5–7 PM (or Friday-Saturday from 10 PM–1 AM, for the night owls) to enjoy $7 cocktails and wine, $4 draft beers, and snacks like popcorn pork ravioli and wasabi edamame hummus.
Head over to SUGA today to celebrate Susanna Foo’s new Center City venture for a full meal, or pop over during happy hour — either way, order up one of their new craft cocktails and raise your glass to Foo’s return.
