Federal Distilling's New Tasting Room & Cocktail Bar In Kensington Is Now Open
Philadelphia’s own Federal Distilling, which produces Stateside Vodka, is opening a brand new tasting room, the Federal Distilling Room, alongside their distillery in Kensington at 1700 N. Hancock Street on, Thursday, August 11.
Founded in 2013 by brothers Matt and Bryan Quigley in their parents’ basement, Federal Distilling has won five industry awards for its signature product, Stateside Vodka, which debuted in December 2015.
Bryan Quigley, one of the co-founders, said of their newest endeavor, “it’s still hard to believe that a few years ago we were making vodka in our parents’ basement and now we’re opening up a full-service tasting room. Stateside Urbancraft Vodka hit shelves in December 2015 and now we are opening FDR to the public. From here, we are excited and hopeful to expand into other markets, but for now we are enjoying the ride and thankful for all that we have accomplished thus far."
The product is sold in 166 Pennsylvania state stores and featured at over 300 bars, and was recently the exclusive vodka of the DNC.
The tasting room’s cocktails will use fresh, house-made ingredients. Every cocktail is based around Stateside Vodka, and the menu includes original creations like the The Cat’s Pajamas (vodka, orange liqueur, Lillet, orange bitters), Dirty & Gritty (jalapeno-infused vodka and olive juice), The Cleanse (vodka, cucumber syrup, lemon juice, fresh mint, and water), and the Stateside Smash (vodka, lemon juice, and strawberry puree).
The distillery will be open Thursdays and Fridays from 5 PM - 10 PM with tours at 6 PM and Saturdays from 12 PM - 10 PM with tours at 1 PM, 3 PM, and 5 PM. The space can also be rented out for group events.
Head to FDR’s tasting room starting on Thursday, August 11 to try their product, see how it’s made, and explore Philadelphia’s local spirits scene.
