Love is in the air in Philadelphia! Or is that just the smell of fried onions? Either way, Valentine's Day is right around the corner and whether you’re flying solo this year, plan on only celebrating Galentine’s Day, or have a special person in your life to enjoy the day with, here are the best happenings for lovers Philadelphia on February 14, 2017.
 
Visit one of Marcie Turney and Valerie Safran’s spots Barbuzzo, Little Nonna’s, Bud & Marilyn’s, Jamonera or Lolita this Valentine’s Day for special prix-fixed menus. Menus range from $45-$55 per person and more details can be found here. (S 13th Street)
 
Spend V-Day at Marc Vetri’s gastropub watching classic 90’s romantic comedies on their TVs along with dining on a special menu, which include oysters with prosecco marinated caviar, seared duck breast, and strawberry and Nutella crespelle. The menu is available prix-fixe for $55 or à la carte.  (1410 Mount Vernon St.)
 
This Headhouse Square restaurant will be offering a three course prix-fixed meal from Febuary 10-14 for only $35. Menu options include oysters casino, lobster salad, parmesan crusted lamb, and decadent desserts like red velvet donuts and chocolate layer cake. (200 South St.)
 
Head to South Philly for a special Valentine’s draft list and food specials. The romantic draft list includes Freewill Passionfruit Berliner, Rogue Mocha Porter, Goose Island Halia, and Stone Enjoy by 2.14.17. Food specials include fresh shucked oysters, salmon with a red wine cinnamon reduction and artichoke hearts. (1148 S 11th St)
 
On Friday, February 17, join Drink Philly at the National Museum of American Jewish History for a Wine & Chocolate Social featuring some of the area’s best sweet treats and boozy delights. Sample chocolates and sip on wines and beers in a wonderfully unique setting. Tickets are only $25 and can be purchased here(101 S Inddependence Mall)
 
BBQ and booze - what’s better than that? Stephen Starr’s Fishtown BBQ spot will be hosting a pig-centric prix-fixed dinner featuring a cocktail pairing by Bluebird Distilling.  Dinner starts at 7 PM and costs $80. (1208 Frankford Ave.)
 
Take someone you love out to Fine Palate for a fancy $75 four course prix-fixed dinner on February 10, 11 or 14. Menu highlights include Mediterranean Blue Lobster, buffalo fillet mignon and roasted duck breast. Desserts include sweets like chocolate covered strawberries with vanilla cardamom rum and Chantilly cream and banana flambé butter pecan ice cream. (231 S 15th St.)

Celebrate Galentine’s Day on February 13 at this South Street wine bar. The event starts at 4 PM, where ladies (and gents too) will get $1 off all glasses of rosé. The bar will also be showing the Parks & Recreation episode that began the Galentine’s Day craze, as well as offering a rosé cocktail and a $15 rosé flight. (1525 South St.)
 
Chef Damon Menapace will serve a special four-course, prix fixe menu. The menu is $75 per person, not including tax or gratuity. Reservations are strongly recommended. (1310 Frankford Ave.)
 
Mission will bring back its popular Mariscos Veracruzanos for Two on Tuesday, February 14. For $18 per person, guests will enjoy a teaming plate of grilled swordfish, littleneck clams, calamari and wild shrimp, served along with a stack of housemade masa tortillas for guests to build their own tacos. This special menu also includes guacamole and salsas, and two churros for dessert. Mission will be taking reservations for parties of any size. (1516 Sansom St.)
Visit this Passyunk Avenue burger joint for their 2nd Anniversary celebration on Friday, February 10. They’ll be giving away free Yard’s Chocolate Love Stout salted caramel milkshakes as well as having a $5 build your own burger and other $1 deals. The shake will be available though February 14. (1823 Passyunk Ave.)
 
Special Valentine’s Day cocktails await at Rex 1516, like the Jack Rose (apple brandy, rye, lemon & house-made grenadine), the Deep Royale (sparkling wine, crème de mure, and hellfire bitters) along with a cocktail meant to be shared by lovers (or friends), the Pink Squirrel (crème de noyaux, crème de cacao and cream). Dinner will be à la carte with specials such as the cold-smoked duck breast accompanied with collard greens, chestnut polenta and collard liquor. (1516 South St.)
 
Indulge 51 floors high at Cupid in the Sky, a romantic six course meal from the classy folks of Sky Philadelphia. The dinner will consist of antipasti, shrimp cocktail, butternut squash soup, arugula salad, choice of entrée (filet mignon, potato-crusted waloo tuna or cider brine roasted chicken breast), and a dessert. The meal will be accompanied by a complimentary flight of wine, lemoncello aperitif and a glass of champagne. Tickets must be purchased in advance for $185 per couple. (1717 Arch St., 51st Floor)
 
Spend your Valentine’s Day in style on a boat cruise on the Spirit of Philadelphia that includes dinner, drinks and dancing on either Saturday, February 11 or Tuesday, February 14. Ticket prices vary. (401 S Christopher Columbus Blvd.)
 
Grab your kids, because this Center City restaurant is hosting “Bring Your Little Love to Brunch” on February 11-12 & February 18-20 from 7:30 AM-2:30 PM. Kids are encouraged to make their own cookies at this event while brunch is being prepped. The restaurant is also offering a five course prix-fixed meal from February 11-19 featuring delicacies like beef tartar, ahi tuna carpaccio and Champagne crème brulée. Dinner is $65 per person or $120 per couple. (121 S 17th St.)
 
Not a huge fan of all the Valentine’s Day BS? Taproom on 19th has the menu just for you. Enjoy $1 tacos including the “Angry Chicken” (spicy chicken & jalapeno), the “Bitter Greens and Porky Dreams” (roast pork, broccoli rabe & sharp Provolone) and “In a Single Pickle” (fried pickles, pumpernickel sprinkles & special sauce). They’ll also be offering special bitter and sour drinks like their “Kick em to the Curb Kentucky Mule”, River Horse Cherry Berlinerweisse (a sour beer) and bitter Americano (Campari, sweet vermouth & club soda). Treat your sweetie to a night of skating on the Delaware Waterfront because nothing says “I love you” more than catching someone right before they fall on the ice. The special skate costs $25 and include ice skate rental, chocolates, flowers, keepsake photos. A DJ will also be on sight to spin the tunes and Dunkin Donuts will be there to hand out heart shaped donuts to lucky lovers. Skating sessions are at 7 and 9 PM. (101 S Christopher Columbus Blvd.)
