Evil Genius Brewery is Now Open in Fishtown

by Jessie Donofrio on Mar 8, 2017 in Beer

After much anticipation Evil Genius’ new brewery and tasting room is now open in Fishtown at 1727 N Front St., just below the Market-Frankford El.

The brewery is located in a 6,000 square foot, revamped warehouse with a 10-tap system that is directly connected to a 15 barrel brewing facility on the premises. The space has a long concrete bar and beautiful exposed brick walls. Sega Genesis fans are also in luck, because there's a lounge with a TV, couches and the gaming console on site for beer lovers to geek out. They also have an outdoor space which was used as a beer garden last summer and will likely be utilized the same way this summer.

The opening tap list will consist of 9 different varieties. The brewery’s newest creation, Trust the Process, a 7.6% ABV Oat IPA named after the infamous Sixers catchphrase, will be on tap along with other awesomely named favorites like Purple Monkey Dishwater Chocolate Peanut Butter Porter; Stacy’s Mom Citra IPA; Zee Goggles, Zay Do Nothing Maple Syrup Barleywine; Holy Schnikes Pale Ale; You Mad Bro? Juniper and Peppercorn Biere De Garde; O’Doyle Rules Almost IPA; Ermagherd Rhrsberries Porter infused with raspberries; and I’ll Have What She’s Having Chocolate Hazelnut Imperial Stout. They will also be offering growler and crowler fills to go.

Food options will include an eclectic array of bites like hoagie dip, sloppy joe sliders, hummus made with beer, and waffle nachos made with marshmallow fluff, Oreo pieces, Reese’s pieces, chocolate sauce, and raspberry syrup.

Starting Wednesday, March 8, the brewery will be open 4-10 PM Wednesdays and Thursdays, 4-11 PM on Fridays, 12-11 PM on Saturdays and 12-9 PM on Sundays.
