Drink Your Way Through the 2017 Philly Science Festival, April 21-29

Get to know what’s in your glass down to every particle at the 2017 Philly Science Festival, which is taking place between Friday, April 21 and Saturday, April 29. We’ve rounded up the best,  which also happen to be the booziest, events of the festival so you can nerd out with a drink in hand all week long!

Friday, April 21
The Franklin Institute
Take a trip back to prom with the Philly Science Festival kick-off event in the planetarium of the Franklin Institute. Formal attire is encouraged, but not required, and throwback tunes will be mixed by DJ Robert Drake from WXPN.  Tickets are $15 for members and $20 for non-members. (222 N 20th St.)

Sunday, April 23
Various Bars
Geek out at this science-filled bar crawl at some of Fishtown’s best spots along Frankford Avenue. The crawl will include drink specials, activities, scientific demonstrations and even more fun! Wristbands are $5 for access to the crawl’s drink deals.

Monday, April 24
Cocktail Lab: Rum, 6:30-9:30 PM
Independence Seaport Museum
Ever wonder what goes in to making a pirate’s favorite spirit? Look no further than this interactive program which will teach you the do’s and don’ts of distilling rum. Tickets are $20. (211 S Columbus Blvd.)

National Mechanics
Head to Old City to learn about debunked theories from five experienced speakers. Guests will have the chance to rate the best stories, question reality and also enjoy some drinks. Best of all, the event is free. (22 S 3rd St.)

Tuesday, April 25
Sensory Overload, 7:30-10:30 PM
